Alison Levesley

Alison Levesley is a patent attorney, working as a Senior Associate in the Africa Patents Department. She is involved in the prosecution of patent applications in ARIPO, OAPI and other countries in Africa, excluding South Africa. In addition to her experience as a patent attorney, Alison also has over 6 years of industry experience, where she led the African regulatory affairs organisation for a multi-national life-sciences company. Alison was responsible for making submissions and obtaining regulatory approvals for seed, crop protection, biological and genetically modified products in key markets throughout Africa. Alison has worked closely with various stakeholders across the value chain to ensure alignment between business objectives, policy and regulatory requirements and market needs. Alison has played a key role in representing industry to build workable regulatory systems in Africa.
