Mketsu and Associates celebrated the firm’s 12th anniversary on 1 February 2022

Managing Director, Sydwell Sibongile Mketsu, who has been practicing law for more than 18 years, founded/established Mketsu and Associates in 2010. Since its formation, Mr. Mketsu has to date opened his practice to many legal minds and practitioners who continue to thrive under the sterling and visionary leadership of Mr. Mketsu.
A testament to the firm’s agility to thrive in a highly competitive market, it has since become one of Gauteng’s consistent and excellent law firms with a growing national footprint of associates across South Africa. Despite huge hurdles such as COVID-19, the firm has survived and seen significant growth which is further testimony to the great vision that its leader Mr. Mketsu continues to provide.
In celebrating this milestone, Mketsu and Associates is looking forward to further implementing its vision, to be a law firm of the future that takes into account the ever-evolving world of economic synergies. The firm continuously seeks and finds solutions to the toughest legal challenges and brings sustainable and practical solutions.
To remain relevant and consistent we have prioritised a collegial work environment, coupled with a blend of experience and expertise that has allowed us to provide pragmatic and cost-effective solutions. It is in such regard, that the firm has continuously expanded, with the addition of several legal professionals specialising in all aspects of law and giving opportunities to young lawyers who have a fresh perspective on the law.

On the night of the celebration, the speech of the Managing Director, Mr. Mketsu, revisited the history and vision of the firm for its next chapter. Mr. Mketsu shared how his team is looking to transform the firm to be a leading South Africa law firm.
He emphasised that the firm will be at the forefront contributing to improving the current landscape in the South African legal fraternity, to ensure that the legal profession responds properly to the needs of all those it serves, as well to the practitioners.
For the next 12 years, Mketsu and Associates will be implementing strategies that will ensure the continuing transition from its first-generation and exist beyond its founders. In doing so, the firm will, with due care and diligence, ensure its growth whilst maintaining the highest standards of legal proficiency, ethics, and loyalty to its clients.
In his address, Mr. Mketsu attributed the remarkable achievement to the continued trust, support, and loyalty of clients, friends, and professional colleagues, with whom the firm has had the privilege of working during the past 12 years.
As the firm celebrates its anniversary, its thankful and appreciates the trust and loyalty shown by its clients and looking forward to the next 12 years.
