Eversheds Sutherland welcomes three new associates

We would like to welcome three new associates who have joined the Durban team in South Africa.

Ishara McKenna has joined our commercial team. She holds an LL.B. from the University of South Africa and an LL.M. in Public International Law from Leiden University in the Netherlands. She has previous experience working for the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea and the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. Ishara has worked with a wide range of clients including multinational FMCG and pharmaceutical companies, listed agri-business companies and private companies. Her practice focuses on corporate and commercial law, and on consumer and privacy law compliance.

Siseko Mgunculu has joined the commercial team from Shepstone & Wylie. Siseko deals with commercial transactions with a focus on mergers and acquisitions, shareholder structures, shareholder relationships, general corporate law and trusts. He also has experience in banking and finance and has dealt with various banking entities.

Lerosha Naidoo has joined our property team. She has many years of experience in the conveyancing and property field. She commenced her law career as a conveyancing paralegal whilst studying towards a degree in law. Lerosha qualified as an attorney in 2016.

Siseko Mgunculu
Siseko Mgunculu

Siseko Mgunculu deals with commercial transactions with a specific focus on the drafting of various commercial agreements, mergers and acquisitions, shareholder structures, shareholder relationships and general corporate law advice. He also runs a trusts practice which comprises the registration and maintenance of trusts with various offices of the Master of the High Court. He also assists in the drafting of documents pertaining to banking and finance transactions with various banking entities.

Lerosha Naidoo
Lerosha Naidoo

Lerosha is an associate at Eversheds Sutherland in Durban and part of our property department. She has many years of experience in the conveyancing and property field. She commenced her law career in 2003 as a filing clerk at a well reputed Durban law firm and shortly thereafter she was promoted to conveyancing paralegal. In 2007, Lerosha commenced studying towards achieving her Law Degree part-time. She qualified as an Attorney in 2016 and passed her Conveyancer admission exams in April 2019. Lerosha has been involved in various types of property related work during her career. Examples of Lerosha’s Property experience includes: conveyancing – including registration of conventional & sectional title property ownership transfers, residential & commercial mortgage bonds, share block conversion transactions, miscellaneous applications, consents and endorsements (for example legal entity conversions), changes of name, replacement of lost title deed applications etcetera), subdivision transfers, consolidations of properties, certificates of registered title, conversion of real rights to sectional title, legal entity restructure transactions, divorce transfers and endorsements, deceased estate immovable property transactions including transfers in terms of Wills and the Intestate Succession Act No. 81 of 1987 and transfers including sales and redistribution agreements, and miscellaneous registrations in deeds offices in South Africa. Advice in relation to general property matters: improved/unimproved land, houses, farms, sectional title, share block, corporate real estate, retail, industrial and commercial properties property due diligence investigations registration of transactions in all Deeds Offices in South Africa opening of sectional title registers, team member on various large sectional title developments drafting property related preliminary and ancillary documents supervision of property transfers on behalf of clients where another firm is handling transfer vetting sale agreements for clients and providing legal advice
