UCT [email protected] is pleased to present a three-day course on workplace investigations.
Workplace investigations into misconduct are a difficult but vital part of workplace management. Proper investigation is essential in the imposition of discipline in the workplace. Proper investigation provides an important safeguard to employee’s right to procedural fairness and also for the employer should there be any subsequent challenge to an employer’s disciplinary action. A poorly-conducted internal investigation can cost a company financially and damage its reputation, as well as damage the reputations of the HR professionals tasked with overseeing the inquiry.
When an employee or student complains of workplace harassment or discrimination, the institution must determine what happened so it can take appropriate action. But often there is no one within the institution equipped with the knowledge and expertise to conduct such an investigation. This course will ensure that complaint handlers and investigators leave with the knowledge and expertise required to properly investigate workplace complaints such as harassment and discrimination.
