Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr (CDH) has been named the number one large law firm in South Africa for the seventh year in a row in the latest PMR Africa client research report.
Based on a survey conducted during September and October 2016, CDH was highest rated in the large law firm category.
“Today’s business environment is extremely complex and requires high levels of expertise across a number of industries and sectors. An ability to provide high levels of service on a consistent basis is crucial. We are therefore extremely proud to have been recognised as the top firm for seven years running by PMR Africa. CDH will continue to use its strong presence in Africa and South Africa to facilitate transactions and support growth in diverse industries,” says CDH CEO Brent Williams.
The respondents, canvassed from across in-house corporate legal advisors, MDs, CEOs, financial directors, company secretaries and senior managers , rated law firms across a range of 29 attributes, with each attribute rated on a scale of 1.00 – 5.00; where 1.00 = poor and 5.00 = outstanding. CDH received a mean score of 4.35 out of a possible 5.00.
The attributes included added value, delivery, knowledge of client’s business, value for money and “feeling safe”.
Earlier this year, CDH clinched top honours at the 2015 DealMakers’ Awards for M&A deal flow – also for the seventh year running and, more recently, the firm jumped one rung to tier one in the latest IFLR 1000 Financial and Corporate Law firm rankings 2017, among other awards.
“We will continue to gear up to ensure our clients stay a step ahead,” concludes Williams.
