TMT Commercial (International Law Firm) – Due to the continued growth of the Firm’s Commercial/TMT practice, an exciting vacancy has opened up for a 2-4 years post admission associate. The ideal candidate would have covered a range of commercial and TMT matters in their current role and come from a highly reputable law firm.

Minimum Requirements

  • Admitted attorney;
  • PQE level of 2 – 4 years post qualification experience;
  • Strong academic background, training and experience gained with a well-recognised Firm, with an established presence in the Commercial/TMT sector;
  • Genuine interest in developing their career with the leading Commercial/TMT practice;
  • Good drafting skills with keen attention to detail, preferably with experience in drafting basic commercial contracts (e.g. NDAs) and the ability to contribute to more complex Agreements;
  • Experience in carrying out detailed and methodical legal research using available resources;
  • Experience of liaising with and co-ordinating advice from foreign correspondent counsel would be an advantage;
  • Confidence and initiative with a keenness to assume responsibility, work independently and take a pro-active and commercial approach to solving issues;
  • Strong inter-personal skills and a genuine interest in marketing and business development;
  • Experience in drafting pitches and proposal documents for legal work would be an advantage; and
  • Experience in the preparation of legal training material and/or delivery of training seminars or lectures would be an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Carrying out research on TMT legal issues including telecoms and media regulation, cloud computing, software development and licensing, content distribution, e-commerce, mobile payments, data protection and cybersecurity;
  • Supporting M&A and corporate transactions and other wider projects with specialist Commercial/TMT due diligence, research and ancillary contracts;
  • Drafting advice to clients on Commercial and TMT legal issues;
  • Drafting various commercial Agreements covering supply, distribution, consultancy and advertising;
  • Supporting the Commercial/TMT team on larger-scale technology procurement, transformational IT and outsourcing projects; and
  • Assisting with the preparation and delivery of proposals, pitches, presentations and legal training materials.
