Data Reporting Analyst (global company) – The Data Reporting Analyst will provide a link between the Firm’s Data and Project Managers. The Data Reporting Analyst will also contribute to organizational improvement by gathering and analyzing data, preparing reports, and introducing process improvements throughout the reporting process.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist manage the firm’s global database of matter budgets;
  • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain data systems including interpreting data, analyse results using statistical techniques;
  • Identify, analyse and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets;
  • Develop, modify, maintain and support custom reports for both ad-hoc and ongoing needs;
  • Develop and implement data collection systems and other strategies that optimize efficiency and data quality;
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for various systems, services and business processes including databases and reporting procedures;
  • Work closely with project managers to prioritize business and information needs;
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities;
  • Support the Project Managers with routine reporting;
  • Provide effective and efficient administrative support to the Team;
  • Ad Hoc Duties – Perform any and all reasonable tasks given by the LSDOPS Manager; and
  • Be a trusted member of the Legal Service Delivery brand focused on service quality, delivery and efficiency.

Minimum Requirements

  • Candidates must have an academic background relevant to this position;
  • Experience in a law firm environment;
  • Advanced Excel Knowledge;
  • Highly numerate and competent in Excel (for fee analysis and reporting) with a good degree of financial acumen;
  • Ability to troubleshoot and analyse data;
  • Ability to work with all levels within an organisation, from senior partners to more junior team members;
  • Pro-active;
  • Work collaboratively, providing a quality service;
  • Current/previous Shared Services experience;
  • Law firm Financial Management System experience (e.g. Elite Enterprise or 3E);
  • Database experience;
  • Experience with dashboards and data visualisation tools; and
  • Experience in Microsoft SQL and VBA.
