Shaun Benater

Hola, mi nombre es Shaun!
Hi, my name is Shaun!

I am a Spanish citizen by descent, tracing my heritage all the way back to 1492. I sat for my LL.B degree at Wits University and later went on to complete my LL.M master’s degree (specialising in Information Technology Law) at UNISA in 2009. I loved studying law (and absolutely thrive in practice). I particularly enjoyed the evolution and development of South African law as well as the law of contract and succession, where I achieved top results.

I started my career at Schindlers Attorneys in 2005 where I completed my articles in 2006. I then went on to become senior associate in 2008. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Schindlers but ultimately left in 2010 to join my wife in her practice (Benater Attorneys). Believing strongly in the idea that we could build our own “dream practice”. I pride myself on being a specialist private client attorney, specialising in estate planning, trusts, family businesses and notarial services. Always keeping in mind our core values and commitment to family. My aim is to add value to the individuals and businesses that I work with by reducing exposure to potential liability and overall risk.

Helping you achieve your goals is my main priority!

I am an admitted Attorney and Notary Public of the High Court of South Africa, Solicitor in England and Wales and a Registered European Lawyer in Spain. As a result, I am a member of the Legal Practice Council (South Africa), the Law Society of England and Wales and Los Ilustre Colegio De Abogados De Madrid (Spain).
