Matthew Anley

Matthew is a senior associate in Eversheds Sutherland's commercial department based at the Campus Office in Bryanston. He has experience as both external counsel and internal legal counsel.

Matthew obtained his LLB from Rhodes University in 2014 and has worked at our Campus office since 2015 and was admitted as an attorney in 2017. During this time he has handled a range of commercial transactions focused on the information technology sector. A 12 month secondment to the Adcorp Group, one of the leading workforce management solutions companies in South Africa, provided Matthew with valuable in-house legal experience in the labour industry and the day-to-day requirements in the commercial labour sector.

Most recently, he has returned full-time to the Campus office where he has been involved in a variety of commercial IT transactions and has advised clients both inside and outside of South Africa. He has also provided advice on banking and finance to clients based in Dubai and Europe.

Matthew’s experience includes:

-drafting, advising and negotiating various commercial agreements including service provider agreements, service level agreements, and non-disclosure agreements in South Africa, Dubai, and Namibia for Dimension Data and Britehouse;
-drafting and negotiating corporate lease agreements;
-drafting and advising on franchise agreements within South Africa;
-involvement in various commercial contracts including internal sale and purchase agreements, warehousing and handling agreements etc.; and
-responses to private and public sector tenders and follow-up negotiations related to successful tenders.
