JD van der Merwe

JD is an Associate Designate in Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr’s Real Estate practice. He has experience in assisting private and listed clients, both South African and foreign, in development, acquisition and occupation/leasing of residential, retail and commercial property, mergers and acquisitions, and general commercial transactions.

JD has experience in liaising with regulatory, public and / or governmental bodies in relation to the fields he has worked in and has had numerous interactions with various such bodies, including the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Council, Department of Mineral Resources, Johannesburg Roads Agency, Department of Home Affairs, and various magistrates and high courts.
